I appreciate your perspective in this article and I agree this "labor shortage" has been a puzzling phenonema. I have also sensed that many business, particularly the hotel industry, have used this an excuse to drastically scale back services that used to be a give in (i.e.housekeeping). I am left wondering what percentage of this is about lack of workers vs. an employer's means to make up for lost costs.
